Happy 2012!

old fashioned chinese calendar

Hello there, a very happy new year to you and I hope the year of the Dragon will be a prosperous and fortunate year to you!

I know I have been slacking with blogging. The last few months I have gotten lazy and was carried away by discovering, browsing and reading way too many fun and fabulous blogs, which sometimes I have to tell myself to take a break. But I guess I have taken a break from updating my own blog instead. OK, I have to change that, starting today.

I bought that old fashioned calendar above from a bookstore in Kuala Lumpur. I remember my grandmother used to have it in her apartment when I was very young. Each paper is very thin and each page contains a lot of information besides the date. It also shows the date from the Chinese lunar calendar, what to do and not to do (like good to get married or not good for moving) on that day, which hours of the day are considered lucky and unlucky and many other information. Of course I am not that superstitious but I found the calendar is quite fun and funny. I also remember my grandmother kept and recycled the pages after she tore them off from the calendar day after day. We used them for wrapping the orange peels while eating the oranges in front of the tv, wrapping the shaves after sharpening the pencils, using them as origami papers, etc. I will definitely keep the pages for the girls to do crafts with them.

I just looked back at the first post last year titled Happy 2011! and there was a picture of a very happy cheeky Nora. So I thought I will post a picture of her one year later, she is now 2 years and 4 months old. Peace Yo!

By the way, currently I am a big fan of the comedy The Big Bang Theory, so super hilarious!
